Amid rainfall in Hyderabad, the landscape surrounding the city’s Jawaharlal Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR) is looking lush and green. The Urban Development Special Chief Secretary, Arvind Kumar, on Wednesday said that the entire landscape around the ORR has massively developed this monsoon making it beautiful and green.
Kumar took to Twitter to share pictures of the landscape and lauded the efforts made by the Urban Forestry wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HDMA) and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited to maintain the greenery.
“Efforts by urban forestry wing of @HMDA_Gov & @md_hgcl have turned the entire landscape around #ORR rich green this #monsoon! Green driving #Hyderabad,” he tweeted.
Hyderabad city has been receiving heavy rainfall for the past couple of days and, according to the recent forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the city is likely to witness moderate showers over the next few days.
The city is expected to receive moderate rainfall till July 22.
As per the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), all districts of Telangana received more than normal rainfall during the period from June 1 to July 15.
According to IMD’s seven-day forecast, the city is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with light or moderate rainfall till July 25 and the temperature is expected to drop further.
