The Kingdom unveils another super stadium ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2034

ROSHN Group has announced on Tuesday the development of an iconic 45,000-seat stadium in Southwest Riyadh.

Spanning over 450,000 square meters, the landmark project will feature a diverse range of shops, restaurants, and hospitality venues, creating a vibrant mixed-use destination.

At the heart of the development will be the main sports and event floor, which will seamlessly connect various facilities with an open and cohesive design. The ROSHN Stadium will stand as a modern crystalline structure emerging into the sky, inspired by the urban fabric and architectural heritage of Saudi Arabia’s central region.

This project marks a significant step in ROSHN’s expansion into mixed-use developments across various sectors, including sports facilities, underscoring the company’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life through sustainable real estate development. Visitors to the stadium will enjoy access to sports facilities, walkways, and public green spaces, making it a dynamic destination.

Designed to meet the requirements for hosting prominent international sporting events, the stadium will also accommodate other entertainment, cultural, and social gatherings.

The sustainable design includes advanced water and energy management technologies, such as solar panels integrated into the stadium’s infrastructure.

The roof design enhances air movement, ensuring adequate ventilation and controlled sunlight access during daylight hours.

Acting CEO of ROSHN Group, Dr. Khalid Johar, said: “ROSHN Stadium embodies ROSHN’s strategic transformation as a multi-asset class developer. We are proud to undertake this ambitious project, which will contribute to improving the quality of life and supporting economic growth in line with Saudi Vision 2030. It will provide a unique gathering place in Riyadh and enhance the Kingdom’s attractiveness to host international events and sporting competitions.”

A key focus of ROSHN Stadium’s design will also be functionality and sustainability. The roof will be built to allow for maximum air movement while ensuring proper ventilation. This is essential because the stadium will be packed once the FIFA World Cup 2034 kicks off in the Kingdom. This will also control the amount of sunlight that enters the stadium. Moreover, the latest technologies for water and energy management will also be incorporated, including the use of solar panels.

The main sports and event floor of ROSHN Stadium will feature an array of shops, restaurants, and hospitality venues, all connected to enhance the visitor experience. Outdoor public spaces, walkways, and public green areas will bring a touch of nature to this complex.
