India endured a historical Day 2 at Paris OLympics 2024, as the nation opened it’s tally of medals with Manu Bhaker grabbing a historical Bronze medal in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol final, thereby, becoming the first ever Indian Women to win an Olympic medal in Shooting event.
Elsewhere, major medal conteders did not disappoint the India faithful, as HS Prannoy, PV Sindu, Manika Pbatra, Nikhat Zareen grabbed impressive victories. However, table tennis produced two losses, with Harmeet Desai and Sharath Kamal losing their respective matches.
With Manu Bhaker’s medal on Day 2, India have not only opened their account for medals at this year’s Games, but also, her historic feat has given hopes and encouragement to other Indian contingents to make the country proud.
