Mani Ratnam tests negative for Covid days after hospitalization

Maverick director Mani Ratnam tested negative for Covid-19, according to his publicist. A few days ago, the filmmaker contracted the infection and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. After being under observation for a few days, the director is said to have tested negative for the novel coronavirus. Soon, he will resume work on his upcoming film, Ponniyin Selvan.

MANI RATNAM TESTS NEGATIVE FOR COVID-19
The news about Mani Ratnam’s Covid diagnosis and subsequent hospitalisation surfaced today, July 19, morning. However, it looks like the director had tested positive for the virus a few days ago.

Mani Ratnam’s publicist revealed that the director had tested negative for the novel coronavirus. Doctors who treated him advised him to take rest for a few days before resuming work. More details regarding Mani Ratnam’s health condition are still awaited.

ON THE WORK FRONT
Mani Ratnam has been busy with the post-production work of his upcoming film, Ponniyin Selvan. The first part will release in theatres on September 30. The period film which chronicles the rise of the Chola dynasty is based on the popular Tamil literary novel of the same name, written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The star-studded cast includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi in crucial roles.
