Jammu & Kashmir witnesses massive infrastructure upgrade under Smart City Mission

In Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar city is witnessing an infrastructural overhaul under the Smart City Mission. Out of 125 projects sanctioned under the Mission, 55 have already been completed.

Akashvani Correspondent reports, Srinagar City is undergoing a significant infrastructural upgrade courtesy the Smart City Mission. The projects being executed under the aegis of the Srinagar Smart City Limited are being implemented to overhaul the city’s urban infrastructure.

The broader themes undertaken within the mission include Jhelum River Water Front Development and Water Transport, Urban Mobility Street and Intersection Development, City Beautification and Urban Art, Heritage Conservation and Downtown Renewal, Central Business District Upgradation, Dal Lake Front Conservation and the Shalimar Canal Project.

A state-of-the-art Integrated Command and Control Centre has been set up under the mission for providing enhanced traffic management system, location-based targeted surveillance and other facilities.
