In Bangladesh, the dengue outbreak has taken a worrisome turn. The number of vector-borne fever cases has crossed the 10000- mark and the death toll continues to rise, signaling an alarming trend this year.
The tally of deaths from dengue fever rose to 62 since January this year, of whom 15 people died in the last five days only.
Dhaka and Chittogram divisions have the highest number of cases, said the Director General of Health Services. As per DGHS data, around 2000 patients are now receiving treatment at various hospitals across Bangladesh.
